Bourbon anything? I’m in!! And I’m WAYYYY into chicken wings — so this recipe is my ultimate snack. Easy to make, they are a memorable appetizer. MAKE ‘EM!!
Serves 4 – 6 people as an appetizer or 2 -3 as a main course.
Ingredients:
- 2 lbs chicken wings, split at joints, tips discarded
- 1 cup bourbon
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
- 3 cloves of garlic, mined
- 1 T. fresh ginger, grated
- 2 T olive oil
- 1 t. smoked paprika
- 1/2 t. cayenne
- salt and black pepper to taste
- 2 T. green onions, finely chopped (for garnish)
- sesame seeds (for garnish)
Instructions:
Marinate the wings:
- In a large bowl, combine bourbon, soy sauce, brown sugar, minced garlic, grated ginger, olive oil, smoked paprika, cayenne, salt and black pepper.
- Place wings in the marinade, ensuring they are well-coated. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, allowing the flavors to infuse.
- Preheat oven to 400 degree F.
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it to prevent sticking.
- Arrange the marinated wings on the prepared sheet, evenly spacing wings.
- Bake for 45 – 50 minutes or until they are golden brown and crispy, turning them halfway through the cooking time.
- While the wings are baking, pour the marinade into a sauce pan. Bring it to a simmer over medium heat and let it reduce until it thickens into a glaze, about 10 to 15 minutes.
- Once the wings are done baking, brush them generously with the bourbon glaze.
- Garnish and serve — sprinkle the glazed wings with the chopped green onions and sesame seeds.
- EAT ‘EM UP!!!
